Your health and safety (as well as the health and safety of our community) is our top priority. Recent announcements regarding COVID 19 from the Canadian government have recommended that all non-essential medical care be suspended immediately.
After careful consideration and with a heavy heart, the team at ALIVE is rescheduling all in-person, in-clinic appointments. As of now, the clinic will re-open for in-person appointments on March 31st, unless we are given new directions from our respective health authorities. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this page as things change.

Here are some of our best self-care recommendations that you can use to keep yourself calm, healthy and resilient:
- Washing your hands. It cannot be overstated enough. Wash with soap every time you come in from the outside, every time you go to the bathroom, every time you think about it. Wash them, wash them good. 20 seconds or more.
- Get enough sleep. This is the foundation for a strong immune system. Asleep by 10:30. Lights out at 10:20. Pretend you are a kind and loving parent to yourself, and gently admonish yourself that really, it’s time for lights out at 10:20. Because you’ll thank yourself later and may even develop a good lifelong habit of investing in your health by getting more sleep.
- Stay calm. Anxiety, fear and panic all increase the release of cortisol, which compromises the immune system. Find ways to remain calm which feels better anyway. Stop listening to the news or social media. Do things that make you feel good such as drawing, yoga, meditation, watching funny movies to make you laugh. Read a trashy novel. Take an epsom salts bath. Nap. These calming activities will modulate your immune system.And if all that doesn’t help, seek professional help. Whether it is massage, acupuncture, supplements, Chinese medicine, coaching, or hypnosis, our team at ALIVE is here to help you through this unique time.
- Nourish yourself. Eat warm, cooked foods. Avoid sugar, white flour, alcohol, and dairy to help your body lower inflammation and boost the immune system. Food is our best medicine.
