What to expect during a session?
Initial appointments are approximately 105 to 120 minutes in length.
- A comprehensive review of your past and present health care needs focusing on reproductive and digestive health.
- Upper and lower abdominal massage
- Evaluation of and application of bodywork to improve alignment of spine (back work with a focus on low back)
- Instruction in self-care massage to enhance your professional session.
Things to consider when booking your first appointment:
- For people trying to conceive the ideal time is after you finish menstruating up until ovulation (for example: 28 day cycle, bleed for 5 days, ovulation cd#14, the best to book CD#6-13)
- For menstruating women (not Trying to conceive and there is no chance of pregnancy) any time after menses up to 5 days before you are due to menstruate again (for example: 28 day cycle, bleed for 5 days, not TTC then book anytime between CD#6-23)
- For menopausal women – any time
- For men – any time
- Arvigo shouldn’t be done if you have:
– Active infection in the abdomen ( E.g. Yeast infection, Bladder infection/UTI)
– Mesh of any kind in the abdomen – especially inguinal surgery
– Too close to surgery (6-8 weeks after surgery is ok)
– Too close to postpartum or miscarriage (should wait 6-8 weeks)
– An IUD
– A pessary in (it must be taken out before the treatment) - – lower abdominal massage should not be done during menstruation
We recommend booking a minimum of 2-3 professional sessions to address your most conditions. Clients who perform their self-care massage on a routine basis report an improvement in their symptoms.
